Italian Company FIMER has acquired ABB's Solar Business

There is a Big News in Solar Business.

Italian Company FIMER has taken over ABB's Solar Inverter business worldwide.

Earlier in 2013 ABB had acquired Solar Inverter business from Power One. Recent report says ABB was the top supplier for Solar Inverter in 2018 in India. Even in 2017 also ABB emerged as a market leader in solar business.

But Now ABB wants to focus in its core business Automation & Control & FIMER also great leader in solar segment so this transaction will enhance the market share of FIMER.

According to statements, ABB & FIMER both the companies will ensure smooth transition of customer & employees and FIMER will honor all the existing warranties and ABB will compensate to FIMER for taking over its business & liabilities. The completion of these acquisition processes is expected in first quarter of 2020.

President of ABB’s Electrification business commented on this development saying, “The divestment is in line with our strategy of ongoing systematic portfolio management to strengthen competitiveness, focus on the quality of revenue and higher growth segments. Solar is a well-established and key focus for FIMER and as such we believe them to be a very good owner for ABB’s solar inverter business. The combination of the portfolios under FIMER will support further sales growth. Through our intelligent low- and medium-voltage offering, ABB will continue to integrate solar power into a range of smart solutions including smart buildings, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging.”
Filippo Carzaniga, Chief Executive Officer of FIMER, said, “We are glad to announce this further step in our development as FIMER’s focus on the solar business will be greatly enhanced by this integration. Our commitment to positively influence the energy market will be realized through the development of new product platforms and innovative digital technologies. We will continue the excellent job carried out by ABB in recent years, combining precious resources, knowledge, and expertise in Italy and worldwide. With a strengthened portfolio, we are better placed to shape the future of this increasingly strategic business.”

Thiland's Biggest Siam Cement Group to harness the sun’s energy by ABB Inverter

Siam Cement Group (SCG)’s operation significantly relies on energy, and it has been a challenge for SCG to manage the energy usage and operate its business while minimizing impact on the environment, particularly climate change. Currently, SCG’s total renewable energy production from all sources is 30 megawatts (MW), which will contribute towards substantial savings in electricity costs. SCG aims to increase solar capacity to 150 MW during 2018 – 2020.
For this project ABB has supplied 19 units of the central inverter type PVS800-57 for ground-mounted solar including installation, supervision, commissioning and training. Those units will be installed at the 3 cement plants; Khao Wong, Kaeng Khoi and Tha Luang in Saraburi province. The total installed capacity of this project is 25 MW, and has been in operational since October 2018.
“Since the end of 2011, ABB central inverters with a capacity of over 300 MW and ABB string inverters with a capacity of 100 MW have been installed in Thailand,” said Mr. Burapa Laohalatanaviboon, Sales Manager of Power & EV Infrastructure. “We are proud to provide SCG with the inverters that are the most efficient and cost-effective way to convert the direct current (DC) generated by solar modules into high-quality and CO2-free alternating current (AC). It will enable SCG to reduce the electricity cost and its carbon footprint that meet its sustainability goals,” continues Mr. Burapa.
The cement industry is important to Thailand’s industrial development, being the main driver of the construction and infrastructure sectors. Siam Cement Group, established in 1913, is now a leading business conglomerate in the ASEAN region with three core businesses namely SCG Cement-Building Materials, SCG Chemicals and SCG Packaging. Over the years, ABB has, in addition, installed DC drives and DC motors in 12 cement plants owned by SCG.

Power One Solar Inverter Now Rebranded to ABB

Power One Solar Inverters and ABB Solar Inverters.  Power-One products have been rebranded to ABB. Here you can learn about the full line of solar power inverters by ABB, formerly Power-One.  From micro inverters to central inverters.

ABB Micro Inverters:

The new ABB MICRO-0.25-I-US AND ABB MICRO-0.3-I-US Micro-Inverters from the line of ABB solar inverters are a superior entry into the exploding Micro Inverter space.  At >96.5% efficiency, the larger 250w and 300w Micro-Inverters pair with the larger solar panels, making them ideal for residential, and even commercial, installations. With Micro-Inverters, the solar panels can be controlled individually and offer the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for each panel.  Also, with a Micro-Inverter installation, a low-performing module will not affect the complete system, maximizing performance of the system at all times.  The added flexibility with system design and timing of cost make the Micro-Inverter solution very attractive intoday’s solar market, and the ABB solar inverters line is as good as it gets. The videos below will illustrate the simple installation, along with the monitoring system that can be collected via wireless communication with the PVI-CDD. The data sheet is available below.
At Vardhman Electro Services , We repair Power One Inverters' driver card , Logic Cards , and Power supply  Cards . We also repair any make grid tie Inverters , string monitoring Units' Cards, Voltage Sensing relays etc. Bonfiglioli , Helios , SMA , SATCON all major brands repairing services done at Vardhman , Vadodara .

ABB PVI-5000 and PVI-6000:

Designed for small commercial PV and residential installations, ABB solar inverters PVI-5000 and PVI-6000 fill a specific area of need in the ABB solar inverters product line that caters to installations which produce between 5kw and 25kw. These inverters have all the usual benefits of an Aurora inverter, like dual inputs for two strings with independent MPPTs, high speed, accurate, MPPT algorithm for live energy tracking and harvesting, in addition to transformerless operation for high efficiency ratings of up to 97%. Wide input range of voltage makes these solar inverters usable for low power installations with lower string size. These outdoor inverters have been designed as completely sealed units that can withstand the harshest weather conditions.
